The success of the Newport High School Band relies heavily on the time, talent, and dedication of our parent community. Every volunteer role directly contributes to providing a premier music education and maintaining the program's long-running tradition of excellence.

Ways to Volunteer

• Game Day & Performance Logistics: Support our marching performances and festivals by supervising uniform distribution, guiding students to ensure everything is returned correctly, managing drum major podiums, or chaperoning student groups. Volunteers also help haul the equipment trailer, pull wagons for field gear, transport water, and take photos or videos during events.

• Major Event Planning: Join a committee to organize, plan, and execute major program highlights like the annual Gala and the Jazz Festival.

To sustain a robust music program, the NBPA fills the critical funding gap between school district allocations and the true cost of running a premier ensemble program.

• Specialized instrumental coaching and clinicians

• Instrument and equipment purchases and maintenance

• Subsidizing student travel, activities, and festival fees

• Providing confidential financial assistance to ensure total student inclusivity

How Families Can Help:

To keep the program thriving, we ask that every band family contribute in at least one of the following ways each school year:

• Volunteer Your Time: Commit 15 to 20 hours across the school year to assist with band events, game nights, or gala preparations.

• Provide Financial Support: Make a tax-deductible donation to the NBPA or actively participate in the annual Gala. Goal for 2026-2027 is to raise $60,000 to support our growing number of students.

• Lead the Community: Consider joining the NBPA Board or taking on a committee chair position.
